He stands at my hiding place and calls in, “you know you’re free, don’t you?

She opened up her hands to reveal a small, silver compact mirror covered with different colored jewels. She just looked down at it, tears in her eyes, looking at her reflection.

We go on living taking for granted the fragile state of our physical existence because it is in our TRUE nature to live eternally without fear of death wrecking our lives. Death seems so shocking and awful because it is as shocking to our system as a fish out of water. Something inside us knows that this was never supposed to be.

The grass follows the sun.  Did you know that?  The blades of grass follow the sun as it rises over them and sets.  They long for it.  They were designed to show us that we need the Son like grass needs the sun.  We thrive when we keep our eyes on Him.  We grow when we follow His movement.

But I want you to know, those moments are foreshadow of the joy that awaits us. And they are worth pursuing. They are worth getting out of bed for. They are hints of what we will have forever, when this broken world is made new.
